Pat Cunniff Named Assistant Track & Field Coach
July 28, 2004
Patrick Cunniff has been named as an assistant track & field coach at TCU, head coach Monte Stratton announced today. Cunniff will work with both men's and women's distance runners during the indoor and outdoor track seasons and will oversee both cross country programs in the fall.
Cunniff has spent the past two years as a volunteer assistant coach for the women's track program at the University of Texas in Austin. While at UT, he helped with recruiting and in practice with both the distance runners and sprinters. The Longhorn women's team captured both the indoor and outdoor Big XII titles in 2003, the Big XII Conference outdoor championship in 2004 and was the South Central Regional Cross Country Champions in 2003.
"We're happy to have Pat join our staff," said Stratton. "We're confident he will continue to raise the bar we've established with our distance program, particularly in women's cross country."
Cunniff was a three-year letterwinner in both cross country and track at the University of Georgia, graduating in 1991 with a degree in political science.
