Chuck Jeroloman joined the TCU coaching staff as the volunteer assistant in the fall of 2011. He most recently retired from professional baseball after playing seven seasons at various levels.

His responsibilities at TCU include coaching the catchers and infielders, throwing batting practice, manning the bullpen during games and filling in as the first base coach. As well as those duties, he shares coaching responsibilities for the hitters with Tony Vitello.

"We are excited to welcome Chuck, his wife Tara and his children, Owen and Chase, to the TCU family," said Schlossnagle. "He comes highly recommended from people throughout the college and professional baseball world. I think he will be a great fit for our staff and his experience at the highest level of college baseball and his time as a professional player will, no doubt, benefit our players."

"I am extremely excited to join the staff at TCU," said Jeroloman. "This is one of the better programs in the country and it's an honor to be part of the staff. I have heard people say nothing but good things about the program, staff and school. I have a lot of respect for coaches (Jim) Schlossnagle, (Kirk) Saarloos and (Tony) Vitello. I hope I can help add to what they have already started here at TCU. I want to play a part in getting this team back to Omaha."

He was integral part of the 2012 staff that guided the Horned Frogs to their third NCAA Super Regional in the last four years. TCU finished the campaign 40-22 and shared the Mountain West regular season crown. Under his tutelage, junior catcher Josh Elander was selected in the sixth round of the 2012 MLB draft by the Atlanta Braves. Over the course of the season, Elander threw out 19 base stealers.

Jeroloman was a three-year starter at Auburn from 2002-04 before being drafted in the 21st round by the Boston Red Sox in 2004. As a Tiger, he played in 175 games and amassed 33 doubles, 12 home runs and drove in 91 runs.

He made his professional debut on July 7, 2004 with the Red Sox's Low A affiliate, Lowell. During his time in the Red Sox organization, Jeroloman spent time in Advanced A and AAA. In his four seasons in the minor leagues, he hit 41 doubles, four triples and 10 home runs.

After being released by the Red Sox, Jeroloman signed with the Grays of the Canadian-American League in the summer of 2007. He spent the next three seasons playing independent ball. Jeroloman hit 65 doubles, eight triples and 40 home runs in 363 career games.

Chuck and his wife, Tara, have two sons, Owen and Chase.
