Made 12 starts as part of 17 appearances on the mound... ranked fourth on the squad with 75 1/3 innings pitched... posted a 3.23 ERA to go along with 74 strikeouts... limited opponents to a .234 batting average against... team posted an 11-6 record in games he pitched... Frogs were 10-2 in games he started... posted six quality starts on the season... used primarily as the Tuesday starter throughout the season... made his TCU debut on Feb. 18 against Northern Colorado... allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits with a season-high eight strikeouts in six innings of work... suffered his first loss of the season after allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits in four innings against UT Arlington on Feb. 25... got a no-decision in a five-inning effort against Dallas Baptist on March 4... surrendered three runs (two earned) on seven hits.... fell to 1-2 after giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits in 4 1/3 innings at Rice (March 11)... made back-to-back appearances out of the bullpen March 18 at Oklahoma and March 23 against Texas Tech... returned to the starting role on March 25 against UT Pan American... tossed five shutout innings allowing four hits and striking out seven to earn his second win of the season... improved to 3-2 after giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings at UT Arlington... collected eight strikeouts and gave up a run on four hits in eight innings at Dallas Baptist (April 8)... pushed his record to 5-2 with six shutout innings against Houston Baptist (April 15)... turned in another 6 2/3 shutout innings vs. Texas Tech in Abilene on April 22 to improve to 6-2... pitched two scoreless frames in a predetermined start at Stephen F. Austin to collect his 7th win of the season... made his first weekend start on May 4 against Kansas State... allowed three runs on four hits in two innings... tossed 4 2/3 scoreless innings in relief at Baylor on May 15... made his final start of the season in the opening game of the Big 12 Championships... held Baylor in check with seven scoreless innings... allowed just three hits, one walk and struck out seven... pitched four innings in TCU's Super Regional clinching victory over Pepperdine on June 9... took the loss in the Frogs' final game of the College World Series... allowed two runs on three hits in 2 2/3 innings against Ole Miss.

Played two seasons at Central Arizona... drafted in the 30th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies... ranked by Baseball American as Arizona's No. 22 prospect for the 2013 draft... named second-team All-American as a sophomore... also tabbed a first-team all-conference performer... earned Central Arizona Male Athlete of the Year accolades as a freshman... went 9-3 with a 2.78 ERA and fanned 76 in 90 2/3 innings... was 10-2 with a 1.32 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 81 2/3 innings.

Parents are Bruce and Julie... has a sister, Kiley... grandfather Thornton Kipper played professional baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies from 1952-55... Thornton also participated in the 1950 College World Series as a member of the Wisconsin baseball squad.
