The Horned Frogs dropped the first game of the NCAA tournament 6-2 to Ole Miss on Friday.

The Horned Frogs picked up their first win of the season with a 5-3 victory over Ole Miss.

2009 (Freshman):
Made 17 appearances on the season... tossed 16 2/3 innings and posted a 5.94 ERA... tallied 22 strikeouts and walked just 10 batters... held opponents scoreless in 12 of his 17 appearances... team posted an 11-6 record in games he pitched... picked up his lone save of the season in his first appearance on Feb. 21 at Cal State Fullerton... retired all three batters he faced, including one strikeout... fanned two in an inning of work against Texas State on Feb. 25... allowed his first run of the season in his fourth appearance... surrendered a run on two hits with two strikeouts in an inning of work against Wichita State on March 7... tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings with two Ks against Utah on March 22... struck out a career-high three batters in an inning of work against Stephen F. Austin on March 24... threw three scoreless innings over two appearances on April 5 (New Mexico) and April 11 (UT Pan American)... pitched a career-high 2 1/3 innings against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on April 22... tied his career-high with three strikeouts in the game... turned in three straight scoreless outings from April 28 through May 9... ended the season with two scoreless appearances spanning three innings... struck out two in an inning of work against Oregon State on May 30.

Lettered four seasons at Keller High School for Rob Stramp... ranked as the No. 15 top recruit in the state of Texas by Inside Prep Baseball... Baseball America tabbed him as the No. 41 prospect in Texas... was the District 5-5A MVP as a senior... also selected third-team all-state following his senior campaign... a two-time MVP on his high school team... was the district Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore... a member of the 2007 USA Baseball Junior National Team... took part in the 2008 Connie Mack World Series... played in the Area Code games with the Texas Rangers scout team... was the offensive MVP of the 2006 Connie Mack World Series with a .818 batting average... finished his high school career with a 22-3 record and 245 strikeouts.
