Coaches elected to redshirt him as a true freshman
At Bellaire High School:
Earned three varsity letters for Head Coach Rocky Manuel.
Was a Preseason All-American prior to his senior campaign.
Earned all-state and all-Greater Houston honors as a senior.
Was a three-time first-team all-district performer.
Ranked as the No. 61 position player by Perfect Game.
As a junior, he was ranked by Baseball America as one of the top 300 2007 graduates.
Earned invitations to the Perfect Game National Showcase at Arkansas and to the AFLAC Showcase in San Diego in the summer of 2006.
Awarded the 2007 Ray Knoblauch Award (given to a Bellaire High School senior for excellence on and off the field).

Parents are Jim and Deirdre.
Has a younger brother, Wesley, and two younger sisters, Marielle and MacKenzie.
Father, Jim, played soccer at Indiana University.
Plans on majoring in Business.
