Made 15 starts as part of 17 appearances... posted a 6-3 record to go along with a 3.07 ERA in 93.2 innings pitched... ranked sixth in the Big 12 in innings pitched... totaled 72 strikeouts while issuing just 10 walks to rank 11th nationally with a 7.20 K:BB ratio... was sixth nationally in BB/9 (0.96)... team posted a 14-3 record in games he pitched, including a 13-2 mark in games he started... didn't allow a run and stranded two inherited runners in his two relief appearances... first start of the season was on Feb. 14 against Southern Illinois... was touched for three unearned runs on five hits in four innings of work... took the loss at Arizona State on Feb. 21 after giving up six runs (five earned) on five hits in 4 1/3 innings... retired four of the five batters he faced in a relief appearance against Vanderbilt at Dodger Stadium on March 8... returned to the starting rotation on March 10 at Loyola Marymount... gave up one run and struck out four in four innings... earned his first win of the season with seven strong innings against UT Pan American (March 18)... struck out nine and gave up just two runs... fanned five and allowed just one run in seven innings of work against Oklahoma on March 24... fell to 1-2 on the season after getting touched four five runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings at UT Arlington on March 31... bounced back and evened his record at 2-2 with eight innings of work against Dallas Baptist on April 7... improved to 3-2 on the season after giving up just one earned run on three hits in seven innings at UT Arlington (April 14)... tied his season-high with nine strikeouts... took a no-decision in a start against Texas on April 25... allowed three runs (two earned) and struck out six in 5 2/3 innings... struck out nine and allowed four runs in 8 1/3 innings at West Virginia to improve to 4-2 on May 1... had another no-decision in a start against Kansas on May 9... allowed just one run on four hits in seven innings against the Jayhawks... picked up his fifth victory of the season with eight strong innings at Oklahoma on May 16... best performance of the season came with the Frogs facing elimination in the NCAA Fort Worth Regional... retired the first 18 batters he faced en route to a complete-game performance... allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and struck out six to improve to 6-2... started the opener against Texas A&M in the NCAA Fort Worth Super Regional on June 6... allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits in four innings... also made his second bullpen appearance in game three of the Super Regional... started the final game of the season in the College World Series against Vanderbilt (June 19)... allowed three runs on seven hits in 2 1/3 innings.

2014 (Freshman)
Made 16 starts as part of 20 appearances in his first season on campus... became the first freshman since Matt Purke in 2010 to lead the team in victories as he went 10-3... fanned 59 and walked 11 in 99 innings of work... he held opponents to a .239 batting average... was 4-2 with a 3.08 ERA in eight appearances in the Big 12... made his collegiate debut on Feb. 16 in a start against Jacksonville... allowed a run on six hits and fanned two in 4 2/3 innings... picked up his first career victory on Feb. 23 against UTSA... tossed six innings of one-run baseball... got a no-decision in a start against Houston on March 2... allowed a run on three hits in 4 2/3 innings... pitched seven scoreless frames with five strikeouts against Dartmouth on March 16... was touched for a career-high six runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings against Texas Tech (March 23)... struck out a career-high seven Red Raiders in the game... lasted just two innings at Oklahoma State (March 30)... gave up five runs (two earned) on seven hits... made four appearances out of the bullpen starting April 1 vs. UT Arlington... picked up his fourth win of the season with 2 2/3 shutout frames against West Virginia on April 5... retired all three batters he faced at Dallas Baptist (April 8)... gave up a run on an hit and struck out four in two innings at Kansas (April 12)...returned to the starting rotation on April 19 at Texas... allowed a run on six hits in five innings of work... threw seven shutout innings against Cal State Northridge to improve to 5-3 on the season on April 27... gave up a run on four hits and fanned five in seven innings against Kansas State (May 3)... allowed a run on five hits and struck out three in eight innings against Oklahoma (May 11)... tied his career-high with seven strikeouts and gave up just one run in six innings at Baylor on May 17... helped TCU clinch its first-ever Big 12 championship with a complete-game effort in the championship game against Oklahoma State on May 25... gave up a one run on four hits, didn't walk a batter and struck out four... clinched the NCAA Fort Worth Regional with his second consecutive complete game... surrendered just a run on six hits to Sam Houston State (June 1)... was tagged for three runs in three inning against Pepperdine in the NCAA Fort Worth Super Regional on June 9... allowed three runs on six hits in 3 1/3 innings against Ole Miss in the College World Series (June 19).

Had an outstanding prep career at Southlake Carroll... was a 23rd round selection of the Detroit Tigers in the 2013 MLB Draft... ranked by Baseball America as the 21st top prospect in the state of Texas and the 216th national prospect... was the District 4-5A co-MVP as a senior... named area Pitcher of Year as a junior and senior... earned first-team all-state honors as a senior... tossed a perfect game against Fossil Ridge as a senior... earned second-team all-area honors as a junior... posted a 0.66 ERA to go along with a 12-1 record in 2013... fanned 177 batters in 94 1/3 innings pitched... was 5-2 with a save and a 1.53 ERA as a junior.
