TCU sophomore pitcher Stefan Crichton:
On the complicated ending to the game:
"There were guys that didn't know what was happening and there were a couple guys that knew it, you know, it should be this and that. I was like, uh, don't let them score."
On continuing to grind through the game:
"I needed to throw strikes and they hit the ball really hard at people. It was finally our break, things haven't been going our way but I think today things turned around for us."
TCU head coach Jim Schlossnagle:
On the team making its own luck:
"We drove them in enough and we should have scored more but we screwed up the squeeze play and had a runner on third base with one out with our two best hitters up and didn't score. When we lose it's a struggle, when we win it's a struggle, but we'll take it. We played good defense and had just enough timely hitting."
On the last play in the 9th inning:
"You are allowed to assume a double play, and they didn't, and they should have. The umpire said that it wasn't intentional, which I agree it wasn't, but it doesn't have to be, but they said it wasn't a routine play. I would hate to get that called against me and I would hate to assume that."
On the performances of Justin Scharf, Stefan Crichton and Zac Jordan:
"I'm proud of Stefan for going in there and throwing strikes and Zac Jordan playing great defense in the outfield. When Justin Scharf is pitching, he's hard to hit, especially when he throws strikes. I was proud of him to come in for Kaleb Merck and play well. The strength of our team is in our bullpen right now."
