ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Trailing 3-2 to No. 12 Notre Dame with nobody on base, two outs and two strikes in the ninth inning, TCU strung together six consecutive singles and plated five-straight runs to upset the Fighting Irish 7-3 Friday afternoon at the Express College Classic in Round Rock.

Pinch hitter Trey Crawford's two-strike, bases-loaded single to left field wound up being the difference, putting the Horned Frogs up 4-3.

Josh Gardner pitched two innings of scoreless relief to earn his second win of the season. With the victory, TCU moves to 7-9 for the season and 3-0 versus ranked opponents. Notre Dame fell to 4-4 with the loss.
