Game Notes:
• TCU became the third varsity team to record its first Big 12 victory against Kansas. (Men's Basketball and Football).
Preston Morrison gave up a run in the second inning, ending his streak of not allowing an earned run at 19 innings pitched.
• Morrison also issued his first walk in 28 2/3 innings pitched dating back to Feb. 23 against Cal State Fullerton.
Jantzen Witte tied a school record with three doubles in the game. It's the first time since Jason Coats hit three against Manhattan on April 28, 2012.
• It's the second time in Witte's career that he collected three doubles in a game. He also accomplished the feat on April 12, 2011 at Oklahoma.
• TCU improved to 9-1 under head coach Jim Schlossnagle in conference openers.
Jantzen Witte has reached base safely in 12 straight games.
• Witte collected his seventh multi-hit game of the season. It's the 64th of his career and his 19th career three-hit game.
Kevin Cron extended his hitting streak to five straight games.
Travis Evans has pitched six scoreless innings over five appearances to open the season.
Derek Odell recorded his third career three-hit game. It's his 16th career multi-hit game.
