FORT WORTH - A pair of four-run innings helped TCU complete the sweep of Dartmouth with an 8-0 victory on Sunday. Jeremie Fagnan paced TCU with two hits, including his second home run of the season, and three RBIs.

"I thought it was the best (Tyler) Alexander has pitched," said head coach Jim Schlossnagle. "It was good to see him have three really good pitches. He's seemed to have gotten better every time he's gone out."

Tyler Alexander turned in solid effort on the mound as he pitched a career-high seven scoreless innings. The freshman allowed just five hits, walked a batter and tallied a career-high five strikeouts. Alexander faced just one batter over the minimum through four innings. Brian Howard retired all three batters he faced in the eighth and Riley Ferrell struck out one in a perfect ninth inning.

TCU broke open a scoreless game in the third inning as it pushed across four runs on four hits. Cody Jones led off the frame with a bunt single. A one-out base hit from Kevin Cron moved Jones to third and he scored on an infield hit from Boomer White to put TCU in front, 1-0. Derek Odell hit a sacrifice fly to push the lead to two. Fagnan jumped on the first pitch and lined it over the right field wall for a two-run home run and a 4-0 lead.

"I thought we had some good at-bats in the third inning. (Jeremie) Fagnan's really been working hard on his swing and I think we saw the results of that today," said Schlossnagle.

Dartmouth threatened to get back in the game in the fifth inning as it had runners on the corners with two outs. Fagnan made a diving grab on a ball heading down the first base line to end the inning.

Another threat for the Big Green went by the wayside in the sixth inning. Dartmouth had a pair of runners on with two outs, but Alexander got Michael Ketchmark to line out to Fitzgerald in right to end the inning.

The Frogs batted around in the seventh inning as they doubled their lead with another four spot. An infield single for Keaton Jones started a string of four straight hits for the Frogs. Cody Jones collected his second bunt single and Dylan Fitzgerald singled to right to load the bases. Kevin Cron came through with a two-run double to give the Frogs a 6-0 lead. A one-out walk to Derek Odell reloaded the bases and Fagnan was plunked to drive in the third run of the inning. Dylan Delso was robbed of a hit by a diving catch in center field, but it was deep enough to drive in the fourth run of the inning.

The combination of Alexander, Howard and Ferrell sat down the final 10 Dartmouth batters to help the Horned Frogs secure the sweep.

With the win, TCU improves to 12-7 overall. The Horned Frogs will head north to Oklahoma for a non-conference tilt against the Sooners. Game time at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman is set for 6:30 p.m.
