Postgame Quotes:
Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle:

On Andrew Mitchell... "He has been battling some soreness we did some things with him with the doctors this week to try to get him out of it. His arm was moving a lot quicker and he was feeling a lot better and he didn't really know how to harness it. I anticipate that next week will be his best start of the season."

On UNLV Pitcher Zak Qualls...
"Qualls is good, I mean really good. It's hard to beat a lefty with an upper 80s, low 90 fastball and a great change up. I thought he was outstanding. I know he was frustrated with the bunts, but he should take that as a sign of respect because we couldn't get good swings on him and we needed to find a way to score."

On the pitching...
"We've had two pretty good starts in a row, and that's what we haven't had. As you have heard me say, to me the game starts and ends with starting pitching. That's where it all starts. You can talk about everything else but if you don't have a good starting pitcher that doesn't even give you a chance and both starting pitchers on both teams were great today."
