FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU freshman pitcher Preston Morrison guided TCU to 5-2 victory over UNC Wilmington Saturday afternoon to lock up the series win for the Horned Frogs. All five of TCU's runs came with two outs.

Morrison improved to 4-0 on the season with his solid performance. He gave up two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts. Kevin Allen notched his second save of the year as he struck out the only batter he faced in the contest.

Kyle Von Tungeln became the first base runner of the game as he drew a one-out walk in the second inning. The Seahawks failed to turn what looked like it could have been an inning-ending double play and the Frogs made it count. Derek Odell lined a 3-2 offering from Jordan Ramsey into left field, driving in Von Tungeln for a 1-0 lead.

Back-to-back walks to Davy Wright and Josh Elander to open the third turned into a pair of runs for the Frogs as the lead grew to 3-0. Jantzen Witte sacrificed the runners 90 feet and Jerrick Suiter came through with a two-out base hit to left to drive in both runners.

The Frogs extended the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring twice to open up a 5-0 lead. Elander doubled with one out and scored on a long home run to left field off the bat of Jason Coats.

UNC Wilmington put together a one-out rally in the sixth inning as it got a pair of infield singles with one out. Morrison worked out of the jam with a fly ball to center and then got a ground ball to second to end the inning, keeping it a 5-0 contest.

A pair of singles by the Seahawks to lead off the eighth inning turned into the first run for UNC Wilmington since Friday night. Morrison minimized the damage as he got Matt Keeler to ground into a double play for the first two outs of the inning, but on the play Corey Dick moved to third. Matt Campbell broke up the shut out bid with a sharp liner to left to make it a 5-1 game.

The Seahawks picked up a run on one hit in the ninth, but Allen got the final out of the game as he fanned Dick to lock up the victory.

TCU improves to 16-13 with the victory. The Frogs will return to the diamond on Wednesday night when they wrap up the home-and-home series with UT Arlington. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
