TCU Rolls To 11th Straight Victory

FORT WORTH -- A combined 13 runs in the second and third innings helped No. 3 TCU roll to a 15-6 victory over Murray State on Saturday. The win is the 11th straight for the Horned Frogs and pushes its record to 25-5 on the year.
With two outs in the second, eight straight Horned Frogs reached base with seven of them coming around to score. Connor Wanhanen was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to drive in the first run. Austen Wade cleared the bases with a double to right for a 4-0 lead. A two-run single from Luken Baker, followed by an error allowed three more runs to score.
The home run came to play in the third as the Frog lead grew to double-digits, 13-1. Evan Skoug hit a one-out grand slam. Three batters later, Nolan Brown hit a two-run blast to right.
Murray State battled back in the fifth as it batted around and scored five times. A pair of two-run doubles around a sacrifice fly made it a 13-6 game.
TCU added a run each in the fourth and sixth innings to account for the final score. In the fourth, Wanhanen scored on a Baker sacrifice fly. Cam Warner's sacrifice fly in the sixth plated the final run of the game.
Nick Lodolo started and went five to improve to 3-1 on the season. Jake Eissler tossed two scoreless innings, while Austin Boyles and Dalton Brown each threw one scoreless frame.

TCU improves to 25-5 overall with the win. The Horned Frogs will go for their third consecutive series sweep on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Brian Howard will take the mound for TCU.
