ARLINGTON, Texas - TCU scored seven times in the fourth and never looked back en route to an 11-4 victory over UT Arlington Tuesday night. Paul Hendrix and Cody Jones drove in three runs each.

A Boomer White single to lead off the fourth ignited the Frogs' offense as they struck for seven runs on six hits and an error. Hendrix singled to put runners on the corners for Jantzen Witte whose base hit to left put the Frogs up 1-0. Smart base running by Witte had him standing on second and he scored easily on a base hit by Derek Odell for a 3-0 lead.

An error by the Mavericks led to four more unearned runs in the inning. With the bases loaded, Cody Jones cleared them with a double to the left center gap. White followed with his second hit of the inning to drive in Jones.

UT Arlington battled back in the bottom of the inning as it scored three runs to cut the lead to four, 7-3. Two hits and a walk loaded the bases for Greg McCall who got the Mavericks on the board with a base hit. A wild pitch drove in the second run and a sacrifice fly from Brandon Lawrence allowed Justin Copeland to score. A hit batter and a base hit loaded the bases with two outs, but Trey Teakell (2-0) got an infield pop up to end the inning.

The Frogs had chances to add to their lead as they had runners in scoring position in each of the fifth and sixth innings. They finally capitalized in the eighth, extending their lead to 10-3. Kyle Bacak led off the inning with a base hit. A walk to Cody Jones had two on. Hendrix hit a fly ball that hugged the foul line and cleared the fence for his second career three-run home run.

Teakell was outstanding in relief as he used his defense to keep the Mavericks off the scoreboard. In 3 1/3 innings of work, he gave up three hits and struck out three to earn the win.

TCU's defense came up big in the fifth inning. Matt Shortall doubled with one out but was erased on an unconventional 5-6-3 double play. Witte ranged to his left to field the ball and looked Shortall back to second. The base runner took off on the throw and Odell threw a strike to Keaton Jones who backed up third to end the inning. He induced another double play in the seventh.

The traded runs in the ninth inning to account for the final score. A pair of Maverick pitchers walked the bases loaded and Travis Hennessey grounded out to drive in the Frogs' run. Cody Dyvig tripled and scored on a wild pitch for the Mavericks.

Stefan Crichton started and gave up three runs on five hits in 3 2/3 innings. Justin Scharf pitched a scoreless eighth inning. Tejay Antone was touched for a run on one hit in the ninth. Riley Ferrell struck out the final hitter of the game.

TCU improves to 17-20 overall with the victory. The Horned Frogs return home for a three-game series against Baylor starting Friday night. Game time for the series opener is set for 6:30 at Lupton Stadium.
