NACOGDOCHES, Texas - No. 13 TCU put up a five spot in the first inning and never looked back as the Horned Frogs cruised to a 14-4 victory over Stephen F. Austin Tuesday night. Eight Frogs drove in a run to help extend TCU's winning streak to nine.

TCU jumped out to a commanding 5-0 lead in the first as it took advantage of two walks and two hit batters. With the bases loaded and one out, Garrett Crain was plunked on the foot to drive in Cody Jones with the first run of the game. Jerrick Suiter doubled in a pair of runs. Dylan Fitzgerald followed with a two-run double of his own to cap the scoring in the inning.

The Lumberjacks cracked the scoreboard in the fourth inning on a Mackenzie Handel home run to center, cutting TCU's lead to four, 5-1.

SFA threatened for more runs in the fifth inning as it got the lead-off batter on for the fourth time. After a sacrifice bunt, a walk followed to put two on for the top of the Lumberjack order. Matthew Dickey blooped the ball into right, but the runners held up on the fly ball and the Frogs got an important at second base for out No. 2. Travis Evans came on and got a grounder to third to end the inning without a run crossing the plate.

TCU tacked on four runs on five hits in the sixth to open up a 9-1 lead. Four consecutive hits from Kyle Bacak, Cody Jones, Derek Odell and Boomer White opened the frame. Cody Jones drove in Bacak and then came around to score on an RBI ground out from Kevin Cron. Crain collected his second RBI of the game, driving in Odell and a wild pitch allowed White to score.

A one-out pinch-hit triple from Zach Marberry helped the Lumberjacks pick up their second run of the game. Kyle Thornell hit a sacrifice fly to make it a 9-2 ballgame.

SFA worked a trio of walks to open the eighth inning and two came around to score on a sacrifice fly and a two-out base hit to make it a 9-4 game.

TCU bookended the game with another five spot in the ninth to account for the final score. Connor Castellano led off the inning with a base hit and scored on a triple from Fitzgerald. Bacak doubled in a pair of runs and scored on a Dylan Delso ground out. Walker Pennington capped the scoring with an RBI double for a 14-4 lead.

Jordan Kipper (7-2) tossed two scoreless frames, allowing two hits and striking out three in a predetermined start. Trey Teakell was touched for a run on two hits and a walk. Evans was touched for a run on a hit and struck out two in 1 1/3 innings. Brian Trieglaff turned in a perfect seventh inning. Brian Howard surrendered two runs in the eighth and Riley Ferrell struck out two in a perfect ninth.

TCU (31-13) returns to conference action Friday night when it plays host to Kansas State for a three-game series. The game is scheduled to air nationally on FOX College Sports and locally on FSSW+. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
