FORT WORTH, Texas - With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth, Austin Adams punched an RBI single down the left field line to give TCU a 5-4 victory and series sweep over UT-Pan American Sunday afternoon at Lupton Stadium. Dillon Farish threw 3.1 hitless innings in relief to earn his third win of the year and Chad Huffman continued his hot streak, finishing 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

UTPA jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, scoring a pair of runs in both the second and third innings. Broncs' first baseman Zach Smith walked to open the top of the second and moved to third after an error and a sacrifice bunt. Brady Honeycutt punched a 2-2 pitch from TCU starter Zach Ashwood into center to plate the first run of the game and put runners on the corners with one out. Chris Lozano followed with a ground out to short that allowed Joshua Talley to race home from third.

The Broncs kept the pressure on in the third, with the lead-off batter drawing a walk and coming around to score for the second consecutive inning. After Ashwood issued a free pass to T.J. Gilmer, Osiel Flores took the first pitch he saw and deposited it into the right-center gap. Gilmer was off on the crack of the bat and was able to score from first on the play. Patrick Brooks followed Flores' lead and drove a pitch to left-center for an RBI double to give UTPA the 4-0 lead.

After managing just one hit through the first three innings off of Broncs' starter Chad Linder, the TCU bats started to wake up, scoring two runs on three hits in the fourth. Huffman led off the frame with his second home run in as many days, knocking a 3-2 pitch over the wall in center field. The homer was the 34th of his career, tying him for fourth all-time with Paul Gonzalez. Two batters later, Andrew Walker followed suit with his sixth home run of the year, a line-drive shot down the right field line.

Donald Furrow relieved Ashwood after three innings and shut down the UTPA offensive attack. The junior allowed just two hits, struck out one and faced only one over the minimum in 3.2 innings of work.

With Furrow and Farish keeping the Broncs in check, TCU was able to come back to tie the game at four in the seventh. Hunt Woodruff opened the frame with a single back through the box before Ryan Pack followed with a double down the left-field line to put pinch runner Ben Carruthers to third with nobody out. A Bryan Kervin grounder to third nearly trimmed the lead to one, but a sharp throw from the Broncs' third baseman cut down Carruthers at the plate. An error allowed Corey Steglich to reach, loading the bases for Huffman, who tied the game with a two-RBI single up the middle. UTPA reliever Aaron Guerra was able to end the threat, however, getting Adams to ground into an inning-ending double play.

With a run in the bottom of the ninth, the Frogs were able to claim their third straight victory. UTPA called upon Tim Haines to hold TCU down, but the righty walked three consecutive batters to load the bases with only one out, setting up Adams' walk-off single.

TCU upped its record to 31-21 while UTPA dropped to 23-29. The Frogs will host the second-annual Fort Worth ISD "Kid's Day" as they wrap up their home schedule with a contest against UT-Arlington at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Brent Allar will make his first start of the season for TCU.
