The event kicks off an eventful weekend for fans of the baseball team. After Thursday's clinic, the team will host their 11th annual First Pitch Banquet on Friday, Feb. 7 at the Fort Worth Omni Hotel. The weekend concludes with the Alumni game Saturday afternoon at Lupton Stadium.
Cost of the event is $40 per person, $400 for a table of 10 or $500 for a table of 10 along with a member of the baseball team. All ticket proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen of Greater Fort Worth for the Cure to provide funds for research and breast cancer treatment. The event is open to all women ages 21 and up.
"So many members of our team have been affected by breast cancer and it has touched me personally. My stepmother and stepsister are both survivors, and I am committed to the cause," explained head coach Jim Schlossnagle
Some perks for guests to look forward to are: complimentary valet from Rent A Frog, a chance to take a round of batting practice, test your velocity on your fastball, a fashion show featuring members of the baseball team, who will model the upcoming season's uniforms. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win door prizes.
Members of the baseball team will be on hand as well. The evening will include a player panel and a Q&A session for attendees to participate in.
