Finnegan Adds Preseason Honor

FORT WORTH - TCU baseball junior pitcher Brandon Finnegan was tabbed a second-team preseason All-American by Perfect Game. The preseason accolade is his second of the year as he was also tabbed by Louisville Slugger.
Finnegan, a 2013 Big 12 honorable mention performer, led the Horned Frogs with 86 strikeouts in 79.1 innings pitched. In 16 appearances, he posted a 3.18 ERA and held opponents to a .257 batting average against.
He spent the summer representing the USA as a member of the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. Finnegan went 3-1 with a 1.14 ERA in six appearances for the national team. Baseball America recently tagged Finnegan as the 13th ranked prospect for the upcoming 2014 MLB draft.
The junior is just one of two Big 12 athletes to earn preseason recognition from Perfect Game, joining Kansas State's Ross Kivett.
The baseball season is fast approaching as the team will begin spring practice on Jan. 24 in preparation for the season-opener on Feb. 14. The Horned Frogs open the campaign with a four-game homestand that includes a three-game series against Jacksonville and a midweek contest against Northern Colorado.
