FORT WORTH - The 2014 TCU baseball team will take to the practice field for their first official practice of the spring on Friday afternoon. The season opener is just three weeks away on Feb. 14 against Jacksonville. Practice is slated to begin at 2:30.

TCU returns 14 letterwinners from a year ago. Additionally, seven of the everyday field starters return as do six pitchers. This past fall, TCU welcomed 18 new faces to the squad. The group was tabbed as the 17th best recruiting class in the nation by Baseball America. In the only preseason poll released to date, the Horned Frogs are ranked No. 19 by Collegiate Baseball.

Preston Morrison and Brandon Finnegan have garnered some early preseason hype as both were named preseason All-Americans by various publications.

TCU will open the campaign with four straight home games beginning Feb. 14. Following a three-game series against Jacksonville (Feb. 14-16), the Frogs will play host to Northern Colorado on Feb. 18.
