TCU Picked To Finish Second In Big 12

Feb. 1, 2018

FORT WORTH, Texas – In a vote by league coaches, TCU was picked to finish second in the Big 12 preseason poll. The Horned Frogs received four of the nine first place votes for a total of 60 points. Since joining the league in 2012, TCU has not been picked to finish lower than second in any preseason poll.

Texas Tech claimed the poll’s top spot with 61 points and five first place votes. Texas ranked third (42), Oklahoma fourth (40) and West Virginia fifth (38). Kansas and Oklahoma State tied for sixth with 26 points, while Baylor (22) and K-State (9) rounded out the poll.

TCU enters the 2018 season as a unanimous top-10 team in the country. The Frogs return 16 letterwinners from last season’s College World Series team, including preseason All-Americans Luken Baker and Jared Janczak. In addition, the squad welcomed the nation’s No. 14-ranked recruiting class.

For the first time since the 2013 campaign, the Frogs will open the season on the road when they travel to Phoenix, Ariz. for a three game series at Grand Canyon.
