Pair of Frogs Honored by Baseball America

FORT WORTH - A pair of TCU juniors were honored as preseason All-Americans by Baseball America. Brandon Finnegan was tabbed a second-team honoree, his third preseason accolade, while Kevin Cron was named to the third team.
Finnegan, a 2013 Big 12 honorable mention performer, led the Horned Frogs with 86 strikeouts in 79.1 innings pitched. In 16 appearances, he posted a 3.18 ERA and held opponents to a .257 batting average against.
He spent the summer representing the USA as a member of the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. Finnegan went 3-1 with a 1.14 ERA in six appearances for the national team. Baseball America recently tagged Finnegan as the 13th ranked prospect for the upcoming 2014 MLB draft.
Cron is coming off a tremendous summer campaign that saw him finish second in the batting title race in the Cape Cod League with a .350 batting average. He hit five home runs and drove in 37 in 46 games played for the Falmouth Commodores.
In his two seasons with the Horned Frogs, Cron has played in 97 games and made 93 starts. He's a career .265 hitter with eight home runs and 54 RBIs.
Frog fans will be able to get an early glimpse of the 2014 squad on Saturday, Feb. 8 when the varsity squad will square off against the Alumni in their annual game. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Lupton Stadium.
