March 20, 2017

FORT WORTH – Jared Janczak’s performance on Saturday against Kansas garnered him numerous weekly accolades. The sophomore was named one of Collegiate Baseball’s National Players of the Week in addition to being tabbed the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week.

Janczak retired the first 22 batters he faced and tossed eight no-hit innings before surrendering a lead-off single in the ninth. He ultimately retired 24 of the first 25 batters heading into the ninth inning with only two balls leaving the infield. Of his career-high 14 strikeouts, seven of them were called strike three.

Janczak is the second Horned Frog to earn Big 12 accolades this season. Luken Baker was named the Player of the Week on March 6.
