9:08 p.m. - Bottom of the Ninth Recap
This one is over, folks. The Horned Frogs toss the ninth no-hitter in school history. It is only the third nine-inning no-hitter.

Join me tomorrow at Noon for the series finale.

8:58 p.m. - Top of the Ninth Recap
Lankford finished the game for the Broncs, limiting the Frogs to three runs on four hits. He threw 140 pitches in nine innings of work as he retired the last 11 batters he faced.

Eric Marshall on to close the door for the Frogs in the ninth.

8:55 p.m. - Bottom of the Eighth Recap
Nick Spears was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. They got their first runner in scoring position as Jose Mendoza grounded out to Lockwood.

Taylor Featherston did a great job on a ball up the middle, taking a base hit bid away from Abraham Garcia. The ball rocketed through the infield and looked like it deflected off of the umpire. The ball took a high hop, but Featherston was able to glove it and throw Garcia out at first. With a runner on third, Ben Carruthers through out Ryan Vest to end the inning, stranding the runner at third.

In other news, Utah has taken a 4-3 lead on New Mexico. They are in the eighth inning.

8:47 p.m. - Top of the Eighth Recap
Frogs got quietly in the inning.

Lockwood still on for his second inning of work.

8:39 p.m. - Bottom of the Seventh Recap
In case you are wondering, around the league we see New Mexico leading Utah 3-2 in the seventh and BYU up on Air Force 1-0 in the fourth. The Falcons got a big 11th-inning win over BYU last night, winning 5-4. San Diego State plays at UNLV later tonight.

Lockwood needed just eight pitches to retire the side in order. On to the eighth inning.

8:35 p.m. - Top of the Seventh Recap
Tyler Lockwood is again up and throwing for the Frogs.

Nothing much doing for the Frogs as they go quietly.

Tyler Lockwood is now on the mound for the Frogs.

Cragin issues two walks and strikes out one in his two innings of work.

8:28 p.m. - Bottom of the Sixth Recap
For the fourth straight inning, the Broncs worked a free pass, but got no further than first base as Cragin got the next two batters to fly out to end the inning.

Frogs still lead 3-0.

8:20 p.m. - Top of the Sixth Recap
The Frogs were finally able to get to Lankford in the top of the sixth inning. Matt Vern took a fastball off the side with one out and Zac Jordan battled through a five-pitch at-bat, coming up with a double on an 0-2 count. Vern showed his speed, racing all the way home from first to give the Frogs a 2-0 lead. He came around to score on a base hit up the middle from Matt Curry.

The center fielder snared a base hit bid off the bat of Ben Carruthers to end the inning, but the Frogs had pushed across two runs for a 3-0 lead.

Lankford crossed the 100-pitch mark and there is still nobody warming in the bullpen for UTPA. After six innings, the right-hander has thrown 111 pitches.

8:00 p.m. - Bottom of the Fifth Recap
Cragin came on and did a good job in the fifth. The highlight of the inning was a defensive play by Taylor Featherston at second. He corraled a sinking line drive just after it hit the dirt and threw to first to get the runner by a step.

Still 1-0 Frogs.

7:52 p.m. - Top of the Fifth Recap
Lankford is not pitching like a guy with an ERA over seven tonight. He has looked good and is throwing strikes. The wind is helping as it is holding some balls up in the air a little longer, but through five innings, the right hander has thrown 84 pitches, 50 for strikes.

Frogs go quietly in the fifth.

Taylor Cragin, he must have snuck down to the bullpen without me seeing him, is now on to pitch for the Frogs. Kelly goes four innings in his first start. He issues one walk, hits one batter and doesn't allow a hit. He finished with four strikeouts.

7:46 p.m. - Bottom of the Fourth Recap
The Frogs now have action in their bullpen as Tyler Lockwood gets up and throwing.

Well, with a new inning brings new sound effects. The music/PA person has found a new sound in his arsenol, circus music! Kelly walked the lead-off hitter Ryan Vest and as he is supposed to do, checked the runner a few times to keep him close, so, as always, we are treated to some form of musical entertainment.

Kelly showed good poise as he again worked around the lead-off base runner. He got Bonham Hough to pop out on a bunt attempt, then a big strike out looking followed by a routine flyball.

Still 1-0 Frogs.

7:37 p.m. - Top of the Fourth Recap
Jimmie Pharr broke up a string of six straight retired by Bronc pitcher Mike Lankford with a two-out double. The ball looked like it should have been caught, but the left fielder lost the ball off the bat and a valiant effort by the shortstop came up just short as the ball fell harmlessly to the ground.

Lankford got out of the inning without allowing a run. Frogs still up 1-0 going to the bottom of the fourth.

7:29 p.m. - Bottom of the Third Recap
With one on and nobody out, Zac Jordan made a great catch on a ball in left center field. He got a good jump and tracked it to keep Nick Spears off the bases.

And with the first Bronc baserunner comes the obligatory chicken noises when we check the runner at first. Gotta love consistency!

Kelly did a good job to pinch around a lead-off hit batsman. He has now retired nine of the first 10 batters he faced. Through three innings, Kelly has thrown 46 pitches, 30 of them for strikes.

7:20 p.m. - Top of the Third Recap
Back to our hecklers, they are really having a good time out there. Everytime a Frog batter is announced, the yell out "Who Cares?"

It was a quiet top of the third as the Frogs went three up, three down in the frame.

7:13 p.m. - Bottom of the Second Recap
A much more efficient inning for Kelly in the second. He tossed 12 pitches, 10 of which found the strikezone. He set the side down in order, striking out the final two batters in the frame.

It was a little dramatic, the end to the inning, as clearly Gabriel Salinas swung at the 1-2 offering, but it took the third base umpire to ring him up. So on to the third we go.

Score is still 1-0 Frogs.

7:07 p.m. - Top of the Second Recap
I know I touched on this yesterday, but there are no shortages of sound effects. Whenever a Horned Frog makes an out, we get to hear some sort of celebratory music (my favorite is the Price Is Right theme).

The crowd continues to file in. There are a fair amount of UTPA fans in attendance tonight and plenty of kids running around the concourse area.

For those that are curious, Greg Holle has retained his duties as the Horned Frog bat boy tonight. Someone will have to fill in for him tomorrow as he is slated to be the starter for the series finale.

On to the game action, the Broncs looked as though they were going to send the Frogs down in order, but a two-out error by the shortstop kept the inning alive. On the next pitch, Ben Carruthers was nicked on the elbow to put two on with two out. Corey Steglich worked a walk to load the bases, but the Frogs got nothing out of the deal as a pop up ended the inning.

Score is still 1-0 Frogs.

6:56 p.m. - Bottom of the First Recap
The Broncs really worked Walker Kelly's pitch count in the inning, but Kelly made the pitches he needed to as they went 3-up, 3-down. Matt Carpenter made a nice bare handed play on a bunt attempt by Bonham Hough to end the inning.

Kelly threw 18 pitches in the inning, 11 for strikes.

Score: 1-0 Frogs.

6:46 p.m. - Top of the First Recap
There is a stiff breeze blowing from right to left tonight. It's a cloudy, cool night at the ballpark.

The contingent of Horned Frogs has grown tonight as there are about 15-20 Frog fans in attendance.

Interesting, with Matt Carpenter at the plate, the outfield put on a dramatic shift, pulling the right fielder to right center, expecting Carpenter to maybe go the other way. The move, however, paid off as he lined right to the left fielder. A balk moved Featherston, who was hit by a pitch with one out, to second and Chris Ellington put the Frogs on top with a single to left.

I have to give the Broncs fans some credit. There about five fans sitting right beside the Frog dugout heckling our batters as they go to the plate. They were there last night and have returned tonight.

Score: 1-0 Frogs.

6:26 p.m. - Almost Underway
The coaches are meeting at the plate and we are almost ready for baseball.

The Frogs will be sporting their black jersey's tonight with grey pants. The Broncs are in all white uniforms with bright orange numbers and Broncs spelled across the front.

Due up for the Frogs in the first are Corey Steglich, Taylor Featherston and Matt Carpenter.
