Holaday Named MWC Hitter of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU's Bryan Holaday was honored as the MWC Hitter of the Week for his performance in five games last week. The honor is the fourth of his career, third this season, and the sixth of the season for TCU.
Holaday turned in an 11-for-21 (.524) effort at the plate last week as the Horned Frogs posted a 4-1 record. He recorded multi-hit outings in four of the five games, finishing the week with nine runs batted in, eight runs scored, five doubles, four home runs and two walks overall.
In Tuesday's 5-4, 10-inning victory over Baylor, the Dallas, Texas, native went 3-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI. He followed that performance on Wednesday with a 2-for-2 effort against Baylor, homering once to contribute one run scored and one RBI in the contest.
In the Frogs' three-game road sweep of Mountain West opponent Utah, Holaday combined for six hits in 14 at-bats. In Friday's 11-6 victory, he kicked off the series with a 3-for-5 night at the plate, registering his first career multi-homer outing with four RBI, three runs scored, two homers and one double. In an 11-4 win on Saturday, Holaday went 1-for-5 with two runs scored, one RBI, one double and one walk. He closed out the series in Sunday's 8-2 triumph with a 2-for-4 day at the plate, scoring twice while driving in two more runs with one double, one home run and one walk.
Nine of Holaday's 11 hits on the week went for extra bases, as he posted a 1.333 slugging percentage and .583 on-base percentage. Defensively, Holaday recorded 37 putouts without an error from his catcher's position.
