TCU Earns National Seed; Will Face Siena

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The NCAA Baseball Regional brackets were announced Monday on ESPNU. The TCU Horned Frogs, hosting their fourth regional in program history, earned their first-ever national seed. TCU was selected as the No. 7 national seed and will face the region's four-seed, Siena on Friday at Lupton Stadium.
The other game in the Fort Worth Regional will see No. 3 Sam Houston State versus No. 2 Dallas Baptist. The tournament is scheduled to begin on Friday, May 30 and run through Monday.
This is the Frogs' 12th overall trip to the regionals. The previous 11 trips came in 1956, 1994, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. TCU is one of just 13 teams nationally to play in 10 of the last 11 regionals.
The winner of the Fort Worth Regional will play the winner of the San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly) Regional in the Super Regionals. The four teams in that region include the host school, Pepperdine, Arizona State and Sacramento State.
The Big 12 earned five bids to the tournament. Oklahoma State was also selected to host as a one-seed. Texas will be the No. 2 seed in Houston (Rice) Regional. Texas Tech will travel to Coral Gables and be the No. 2 seed at Miami. Kansas will be the No. 3 seed in the Louisville Regional.
