Fall Practice Opens Tuesday

FORT WORTH - The TCU baseball team will kick off its athletic year Tuesday afternoon as they open up their fall team practices. The Horned Frogs will conduct approximately 27 practices over the permissible fall period.

TCU will play multiple intrasquad games and are slated to play a pair of fall exhibition games against Rice and Stephen F. Austin. The team's first test against another opponent comes on Oct. 14 at noon when they travel to Round Rock for a meeting with Rice. The game will be played at Dell Diamond, home to the Texas Rangers' Triple A team.

The annual Purple-White Series will take place Oct. 18, 19 and 21 around the home football weekend against Texas Tech. The team will play a three-game series at Lupton Stadium.

Fall practice wraps up on Oct. 28 at 1pm with a home scrimmage against Stephen F. Austin.

All practices are set to begin at 2:30 p.m. during the week and are open to the public. All weekend practices are TBA and will be announced as they are scheduled via twitter (@TCU_Baseball) and www.gofrogs.com .

The Horned Frogs are coming off their sixth straight 40 win campaign, finishing the 2012 season with a 40-22 mark. They wrapped up their stay in the Mountain West with their ninth consecutive conference championship. The Frogs made their ninth straight appearance in the NCAA Regionals, taking home the NCAA College Station Regional championship and advancing to the NCAA Los Angeles Super Regional. It was their third appearance in the Super Regionals in the last four years.
