FORT WORTH, Texas - Baseball America has ranked the 2012 recruiting class as the 10th-best in the nation. The class of 17 features five players who were drafted in the 2011 MLB First Year Player Draft.

"The ranking is a great testament to the hard work of Tony Vitello and Randy Mazey along with the continued greatness of TCU as a great product to sell," remarked head coach Jim Schlossnagle. "There are several outstanding players in this class that we will count on to make an impact this year, but their true value won't be determined until we see how they compete for an entire year in the classroom and on the field."

TCU has landed in the top 10 of Baseball America's recruiting class rankings in three of the last five years. The 2010 recruiting class earned the highest ranking in program history at No. 4, while the 2009 recruiting class was ranked No. 9 by the magazine.

Highlighting the recruiting class are draftees Kevin Cron (3rd, Seattle), Jerrick Suiter (35th, Toronto), Derek Odell (42nd, Boston), Kevin Cornelius (42nd, New York Yankees) and Brandon Finnegan (45th, Texas). In total, the recruiting class features 14 freshmen and three junior college transfers.
