Purple and White Series Starts Sunday

Preston Morrison will start game one for the Purple team.

FORT WORTH - TCU baseball will host its annual Purple-White World Series beginning Sunday afternoon at Lupton Stadium. The series will bring to a close the fall training schedule for the Horned Frogs.

The White team will be coached by associate head coach Bill Mosiello, while the Purple squad will be under the direction of volunteer assistant Zach Etheredge.

Game one of the series is set for Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. The pitching match-up will feature freshman right-hander, Brian Howard for Team White against two-time all-conference performer Preston Morrison for the Purple squad.

The teams will take the field again Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. for game two. Starting for Team White will be freshman left-hander Ryan Burnett. Opposing him for the Purple team will be junior right-hander Trey Teakell.

The series will conclude Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. A pair of left-handers will face off as junior Brandon Finnegan will go for the White team and freshman Tyler Alexander will start for the Purple team.

All games will be played at Lupton Stadium. They are free and open to the public.
