FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU Horned Frogs will head into the Conference USA portion of their schedule riding a two-game winning streak after defeating the Centenary Gents 102-89 on Saturday night at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The Horned Frogs improved to 6-5 on the year, while Centenary fell to 5-8.

The Horned Frogs opened the scoring and led wire-to-wire in the contest. TCU, which led by as many as nine in the opening stanza, held a 44-39 advantage at halftime. TCU increased its lead to 15 at the 14:26 mark of the second half and the Frogs were able to keep Centenary at bay the rest of the way.

For the second straight game, five TCU players reached double figures and the Frogs reached the 100-point mark. It was the first time that TCU has posted back-to-back 100-point games since Feb. 15-17, 2001.

Freshman Chudi Chinweze led the team with a career-high 21 points, while Corey Santee notched 20. Santee narrowly missed a double-double, as he finished with nine assists. Junior Blount scored 19 on 4-of-6 three-point shooting, Bingo Merriex had 16 points and Jamal Brown added 11.

TCU shot .548 (34-for-62) from the field for the night, and made 8-of-18 three-point shots (.444). Meanwhile, the Gents made 53.2 percent of their shot attempts (33-of-62). TCU outrebounded Centenary by a 35-26 margin.

The Horned Frogs begin Conference USA play on Wednesday, Jan. 8 when they travel to Southern Miss. Tipoff is set for 7:05 p.m. and the game can be seen in the Fort Worth-Dallas metroplex on KFWD-52. TCU's first conference home game is a nationally-televised ESPN clash with perennial power Cincinnati on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 4:05 p.m.
