TCU Drops Game to DePaul, 71-65

ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) - Sam Hoskin scored 20 points, 17 in the second half, and Andre Brown added 14 with nine rebounds as DePaul defeated TCU 71-65 Tuesday night.
DePaul (9-4, 1-1 Conference USA) opened up the game with an 18-8 lead. LeVar Seals made his first start of the season and scored 10 points during the span, hitting two 3-pointers. He finished with 13 points.
TCU (6-8, 0-3) was able to come back and tie the game by closing out the half with a 10-0 run. Corey Valsin hit a lay-up as time ran out in the first half to tie the game at 29.
TCU took the lead on a Valsin jumper, but DePaul then outscored TCU 14-2. Brown's jumper gave DePaul a 43-33 lead with 14:41 left in the game. TCU closed within two on a Marcus Sloan lay-up making it 49-47 with 10:15 left in the game, but DePaul scored six unanswered points.
Junior Blount kept TCU in the game by hitting a pair of 3-pointers late in the game. Blount hit a 3-pointer with 54.1 seconds left to get within three and hit another 3-pointer to get within two with 14.7 seconds to go. Hoskin hit six straight free throws for DePaul to close out the game. Blount ended with 25 points and Corey Santee added 11 for TCU.
DePaul matched last season's win total with nine. DePaul's second-leading
scorer Delonte Holland did not play due to a coaching decision.
