MILWAUKEE (AP) - Odartey Blankson scored 19 points and Dwyane Wade had 15 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists to lead Marquette to an 83-72 victory over TCU on Wednesday night.
The win was Marquette's fifth straight, while the Horned Frogs have lost six in a row for the first time since 1992-93.
Marquette (16-3, 5-1 Conference USA), which allows the ninth-fewest points in the nation (59.6), held TCU (10-10, 0-6) to its second-lowest point total of the season.
The Horned Frogs' 89.4 points per game was third in the nation, but their defense allowed 80 or more points for the eighth consecutive game.
TCU trailed by nine points with just under eight minutes left in the game but trimmed the margin to four with 5:24 remaining. Corey Santee's basket and free throw cut the deficit to 72-68, the closest the Frogs would get.
Marquette used an 8-1 run to pull away. A free throw by Oluoma Nnamaka gave
the Golden Eagles an 80-69 lead with 1:16 remaining.
