Kansas 91, TCU 69
Daniel-Meyer Coliseum
Fort Worth, Texas

TCU head coach Trent Johnson
Opening statement:

“They (Kansas) have a special group, they play really hard, but I also thought Brandon Parrish played really well tonight. Amric Fields and Kyan Anderson were pretty good considering that both of them didn’t practice the last two days. We’re not deep enough. We’re not where we need to be in terms of competing like a team like that.”

TCU junior forward Amric Fields
On playing Kansas:
“At every position, they have somebody who can score. They can attack you, so you really have to be on your toes for every defensive possession.”

On the difference between last year’s and this year’s game:
“Energy. Last year, I felt that there were never any spots where we lacked energy and we were always the first to loose balls. There was a ten-minute stretch where we had a lack of energy and they pulled away.”

Kansas head coach Bill Self
On his feelings after the game this year vs. last year:
“Last year, we didn’t leave out of here very happy and it wasn’t because we didn’t play very well; it was because TCU whipped us. They were better than us last year without question. Tonight we played much better. We were efficient offensively and we tried hard defensively the first half and got a pretty nice cushion and then we just kind of traded baskets the second half but it was better - a lot better.”

On Andrew Wiggins’ performance:
“I’d say one of his more aggressive games. He was a little thirsty to score in the first half, which is what we want. You know, it helps when he makes shots because when he makes shots, it sets up a drive because he’s so quick and putting it down. I thought Andrew played well. I really thought our entire team shared the ball and moved the ball about as well as we have all year long in the first half.

“He (Wiggins) never got lost today. He was able to put his handprint all over the possessions and create opportunities for himself and others. I just thought he played the way that he should play every game. I don’t think that he’s not going to score 19 in a half every game, obviously, but I thought that without question he didn’t do anything tonight that he couldn’t do in any other game.”
