FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Junior Blount tied a career-high 34 points and dished out six assists as TCU held off DePaul 92-83 Wednesday night at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
DePaul trailed most of the second half, but put together several runs to stay in the game, mostly by crashing the boards. Andre Brown shattered a career-high in rebounds with 27, 11 on the offensive end. He also added 16 points.
Brown's rebounding total was the second best in DePaul history and a Conference USA record.
The Blue Demons (8-14, 1-9 in Conference USA) finished with an 18-4 edge in second chance points, but shot only 36.6 percent to TCU's 44.3 percent.
The Horned Frogs (13-12, 3-8) led 74-61 with 8:38 left, but Marlon Brooks and Brown led a comeback attempt. Brooks scored 12 the rest of the way, but the Blue Demons were only able to get as close as five points.
DePaul played without three players, all of whom have started at one point this season. Imari Sawyer (8.9 points), Sam Hoskin (11.5 points, 6.6 rebounds) and Lance Williams were all suspended indefinitely for academic reasons.
Corey Santee added 17 points and seven assists for TCU. Brook finished with
