TCU 75, Colorado State 71
Fort Worth, Texas (Daniel-Meyer Coliseum)
Feb. 11, 2012
Attendance: 4,822

TCU HEAD COACH Jim Christian
On the play of senior forward Craig Williams:
“He’s been hurt, and we’ve really missed him. He came out and shot the ball with confidence, and he shoots it better here. I’m not surprised when he makes a couple (3-pointers).”

On the play of freshman guard Kyan Anderson:
“He made a freshman mistake. He wasn’t aware of the (shot) clock and pulled it back out, but then he made a huge play to make up for it. That’s what you have to do. I thought this was the best floor game he’s played all year. He had eight assists and got the ball to the right guys all the time. Between him and Hank (Thorns), that’s 14 assists. Both of them played really well, and they played the right way today. He made two huge free throws, too.”

On Colorado State:
“They have a lot of really smart basketball players that shoot the ball extremely well. They’re shooting 49 percent on the year, so they are a hard team to guard. We made the big stops when we had to get them.”

On the play of junior forward Connell Crossland:
“Connell was huge (for TCU). He rose up and made a big 3, but more importantly he rebounds and guards very well.”

On the upcoming challenge of UNLV:
“UNLV is ranked (No. 14) in the country for a reason, but we’re capable of beating anyone in the league.  If we share the ball and play with confidence, we can play with anyone.  We know that. We just have to go out and do it.”

On his 3-point shooting:
“It just kind of came with the flow. I was trying to assert myself in the paint because the guy guarding me was about 6-6 or 6-7, so I had the height and weight difference. I guess I just got lucky and hit some really key 3-point shots.”

On his health:
“I was about 80 to 85 percent tonight.  I’m really upset that I didn’t get to play against SMU, because that’s a game we should have won.”

On the win:
“This definitely boosts our confidence. I mean, we lost at Colorado State in double-overtime, so we felt that we owed these guys one.”

On his key defensive play toward the end of the game:
“I had to get it back. I made a mistake and told my teammates that I was going to get it back, and that’s what I did. I anticipated that he was going to go around his back, and I just reacted.”

On the game:
"We have to credit TCU. I really thought they came out in the second half, and in the last four minutes of the first half down 10, and just started to attack."

On his team’s defensive play:
"You have to understand some guys drive well, but most can make shots. Our guys know that, but we didn't have enough of a defensive presence. To see all those shots was pretty disturbing."

"TCU's a good team, undefeated in the league at home just like us, and you have to credit them for making shots and making plays."
