NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Brandon Brown scored a season-high 28 points to lead Tulane to a 84-78 victory over TCU Saturday.

Tulane (12-11, 5-5 Conference USA) used a 17-2 run early in the second half to pull away from TCU (8-15, 2-9).

Waitari Marsh added 17 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for the Green Wave. Brandon Spann and Iven Pjevcevic were also in double figures with 15 and 12 points respectively.

The Horned Frogs pulled to within 74-72 on a 3-pointer from Junior Blount with 2:37 to go. He scored 17 points.

Brown hit a 3-pointer to make it 79-72 with 1:19 to go.

Corey Santee made a three-point play and Bingo Merriex hit a 3-pointer to cut Tulane's lead 82-78 with 22.2 seconds remaining.

Marcus Kinzer clinched the victory by sinking a pair of free throws with 19.7 seconds remaining.

The game was tied at 38 at the break.

The Green Wave shot 77.3 percent in the second. For the game, the Wave connected on 63.3 percent of its shots, while TCU hit 52.8 percent of its attempts.

Tulane made 17-of-24 of its free throws and turned the ball over nine times. TCU had 12 turnovers.
