TCU Head Coach Jim Christian
On his team’s overall performance:
“Both teams played really well. [Jamaal] Franklin made some huge plays in this basketball game and he’s probably conference player of the year and he should be. We had our chances to win the game. We went up by three with under a minute to play and we did a great job switching out and forcing the bad shot, but you have to get that rebound. You get that rebound and the game is probably over right there. I’m proud of our kids though. Despite being down by sixteen, they never got down and they fought back like they did all year long. They pecked away and pecked away. Unfortunately, we came up short.”

On individual performances:
“Hank Thorns and J.R. Cadot were huge for us. Garlon Green did some great things on defense and Craig Williams rebounded the ball well. We’ve proven we can play and beat anybody in this league. We didn’t beat San Diego State, but we know that we had our opportunities. I think we didn’t play as well as we have played at home and we know that next time we are going to have to come out and play well.”

TCU Forward Craig Williams
On his team’s comeback and his individual performance:
“We made a good comeback, but we made some bad plays down the stretch. I’m not the best ball screen defender and that’s something I’m going have to work on going into the conference tournament. I’ll definitely try to improve on that and we know that we will need to improve our overall defense as a team. We gave up way too many points, especially in the first half.”

On the future:
“This definitely shows us that we can beat anybody in the league. We beat everybody except San Diego State, and that game came down to the wire. I definitely look forward to going into conference tournament play and trying to make some noise.”

San Diego State Head Coach Steve Fisher
On TCU’s performance:
“Our team and our coaches have eye-witnessed everything that has happened this year and it had end the way it did. I knew when we got up by 18 points that it was far from over. They did what they’ve done to UNLV and New Mexico. They played like warriors themselves and came back and made some incredibly hard 3’s to get themselves back in the game.”

On SDSU’s game:
“To our team’s credit, they stayed in there and I think it was fitting that Tim Shelton is the guy who made the play to get an and-one to put it into overtime. He is such a warrior and such a guy; it was great to see him make that play. I could go on and on about the individual guys, but it was a wonderful team victory for us without a shadow of a doubt. Now we are conference co-champions and that sounds awfully good.”
