TCU Head Coach Trent Johnson
Opening Statement
“You want to play everyone in certain combinations and situations. I expect us to be a little tired from our practices, but in the big picture, it is the first game that we have played. All in all, we shot 21-of-41 from the field, which was good. In the first half, we were up by 20 and I started looking at second combinations. Because of that, Tarleton was able to get back in the game. I wanted the second guys to play through some things. All in all, this is a very good basketball team we played. Tarleton will win a lot of games. It was a good test for us.”

On Kyan Anderson’s performance
“That is to be expected. More importantly, he was 13-for-13 from the free throw line. I’m not worried about Kyan’s points. Defensively, he was really good to start the first half. We have to get to a point where a dropped ball or a missed shot doesn’t necessarily affect us. As coaches, we let them play through to figure it out. We are good, we are deep, we can defend and going 21-for-41 is a good thing.”
