TCU HEAD COACH Jim Christian
On what TCU learned from this game:
“It’s two games into the year and as I told them, the only thing you can hope for two games in is that you’re 2-0. There’s a lot things we got to learn from ourselves to get better to play the teams we’re about to play. I want to see us play hard for 40 minutes, and I thought we did that. Everybody that stepped on the floor played hard. Now we have to continue to play smarter and take care of the basketball.”
On the performance of TCU’s reserve players:
“I’m not surprised by any of that. Those guys, (Chris) Zurcher and (Thomas) Montigel, when I leave at nine, ten o’clock at night, they’re shooting every night. So when they make shots in games I’m not surprised by it. In fact, I told the team during the timeout, it doesn’t surprise me at all. I would be disappointed if they didn’t make it from the amount of shots they take.”
On TCU’s performance:
“We came together as a family. We knew we could’ve done it the first game, but we ended up winning by one. We had to come back out and show our fans they are supporting us for a reason.”
On receiving an opportunity to play:
“It was a lot of fun. It’s not really about the whole individual showing. We have a really deep team. I work hard in practice every day and go against amazing players. It feels great going in there when the whole team’s got your back. They all want you to do well and you want to give back to them too.”
