Fort Worth, Texas (Daniel-Meyer Coliseum)
Dec. 6, 2011
Attendance: 6,290

TCU HEAD COACH Jim Christian
On team’s play at the end of the game:
“Offensively, I thought we took care of the ball except for a couple plays, but defensively I thought we gave up too many easy baskets in the last couple of minutes. We almost got tentative. We lost our aggressiveness, except for Craig Williams. I thought Williams made some huge plays in this game. He was one of those guys who made back-to-back plays—hit a three, made a steal, kept the ball alive on the free throw line and then got a charge. That’s the kind of things you’ve got to have to win games.”

On the way the team responded to Texas Tech’s final run:
“We’re used to it. That’s kind of how we do it. It’s been like that every game. We’re up, we’re down. We just find a way to hold on. Again, you have to make big plays in the last couple of minutes. We made free throws, got to the line and got a couple big rebounds. We find a way to make plays. We find a way to keep them in it, and then we find a way to make plays at the end. “

On TCU’s second-half performance:
“I think we stopped moving the ball around. We had 10 assists in the first half and the second half we didn’t have as many. But I think our guys are confident. Things are going great for us. We just have to find a way to put it away earlier.”

On being able to feed off of the home crowd:
“It feels good to play in front of a lot of Horned Frogs. The sixth man in college always helps. I loved it.”

Opening statement:
“We did run out of time, but give them credit. They won the game. They made a bunch of shots, almost (29 percent) on the year from 3-point range, and they made them. Most of them were contested fairly well, not great. But our team played hard, just got spread out and turned the ball over 11 times in the first half.”

On the last 12 minutes of the game:
“We played hard and competed the last 12 minutes and that was my most proud 12 minutes here as head coach. That’s the kind of team I put on the court. We haven’t worked enough on late game situations and how to foul. We wasted time on fouling there and that is no fault but my own. I was very proud of them. We got the ball where we wanted to and passed better. We really competed and I’m proud of my team”
