FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Horned Frogs (9-4) turned away a strong effort from the Grambling State Tigers (3-4) to record a 98-83 victory on Tuesday night at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The Horned Frogs trailed by as many as 11 on two occasions in the first half, but used an 15-0 run in the middle of the second half to pull away for their third straight victory, all by double figures.

Grambling State led by one, 48-47, at intermission after the Tigers shot better than 56 percent from the floor in the first half (17-for-30). TCU's first lead since 7-5 came with just over 19 minutes left in the contest when a Nile Murry 8-footer gave the Frogs a 49-48 advantage. TCU did not surrender that lead the rest of the way. The closest Grambling State got was 2, 66-64, before the long Frog run put the game out of reach.

TCU is now 6-0 all time against Grambling State, who went 14-for-29 from three-point range on the evening. For the third time this season, TCU had five players in double figures. Murry matched a TCU season high with 26 points, while Marcus Shropshire poured in 18. Judson Stubbs (15), Aaron Curtis (11) and Corey Santee (10) also chipped in with double-digit point totals. In the game, Santee became the eighth player in TCU history to register 1,500 career points and became just the second Frog ever to reach the 500-assist plateau.

The Horned Frogs dominated the glass, outrebounding the Tigers 46-29. Femi Ibikunle paced the team with nine boards. The Frogs went to the free throw line 39 times, making 24, for 61.5 percent.

TCU returns to action on Monday, Jan. 3 against Texas State. The game, the final contest of a four-game homestand and the Frogs' last nonconference game of the season, will tip off at 7:05 p.m.
