Brodziansky, Williams Named Academic All-Big 12

FORT WORTH, Texas – Junior Vladimir Brodziansky and senior Michael Williams were awarded Academic All-Big 12 honors on Thursday by the conference office.
Brodziansky, a psychology major, was one of 17 selected for the first team, with a 3.20 or better GPA. Williams, a supply and value chain management major, was among the nine selected to the second team, with a GPA of 3.00-3.19.
In his second season with TCU after transferring from Pratt Community College, Brodziansky is enjoying a standout year. The 6-11 forward ranks 10th in the conference with 13.6 points per game and second in the conference in shooting at 57.7 percent. Brodziansky has blocked 65 shots this season, the fifth-most in school history.
It’s the third consecutive season Williams has been named to the Big 12 All-Academic Second Team. The San Antonio native is averaging 2.2 points per game in his fourth season with the Horned Frogs.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
