Brodziansky, Williams Earn Postseason Honors

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU seniors Vladimir Brodziansky and Kenrich Williams were each honored by the Associated Press and Williams by the United States Basketball Writers Association on Tuesday.

Williams earned a spot on the AP’s All-Big 12 Second Team, while Brodziansky was named honorable mention. Williams was also honored by the USBWA as a selection to the All-District VII Team which recognizes the best 12 players from Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. The recognition comes two days after Williams was named All-Big 12 Second Team and Brodziansky was named All-Big 12 Third Team by the Big 12 head coaches.

Williams is averaging 12.9 points this season and ranks second in the conference with 9.3 rebounds per game. His 12 double-doubles on the season ranks third in the conference. Williams was named Preseason All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in October and has since scored over 10 points 22 times and over 10 rebounds 13 times. The Waco, Texas native was named the Emerald Coast Classic Most Outstanding Player after recording double-doubles in the wins over New Mexico and St. Bonaventure. For the season, Williams ranks third in the conference with 1.8 steals and sixth with 4.0 assists per game.

Brodziansky averaged 15.2 points, the 11th best in the conference. After being named Preseason All-Big 12 Conference in October, Brodziansky has been one of the most consistent scorers in the league. Of the 31 games played, Brodziansky has scored in double-figures 27 times and has shot 57.7 percent from the field, the third-best in the Big 12. The Slovakian also ranks seventh with 1.6 blocks per game.

The long list of awards for Brodziansky this season includes Senior CLASS Award finalist, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award finalist, First Team Academic All-Big 12 and CoSIDA Academic All-District.



Brodziansky and Williams will lead the Horned Frogs to their 2018 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship quarterfinals matchup with Kansas State Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
