TCU head men's basketball coach Jim Christian will throw out the ceremonial first pitch when the Texas Rangers square-off against the Atlanta Braves in inter-league action at Rangers Ballpark at Arlington on Wednesday (June 18) evening.

Christian became the 19th head men's basketball coach in TCU history on March 29th after spending the previous six seasons as head coach at Kent State where he won at least 20 games in each campaign. During his tenure with the Golden Flashes - Christian compiled a record of 138-58 (.704) for the highest winning percentage in Mid-American Conference history. Christian led Kent State to five post-season appearances - including a pair of trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2006 and 2008 - during his tenure with the Golden Flashes.

This past season - Kent State recorded a 28-7 overall record en route to earning its first top-25 ranking in school history - peaking at 23rd in the nation by the Association Press and 24th by ESPN/USA Today. The first-year head men's basketball coach for the Purple and White was selected as the MAC Coach of the Year in two of the last three seasons.

The first pitch ceremony is slated for 6:40 Central Time with game time set for 7:05 between the Rangers and Braves.
