FORT WORTH--TCU men's basketball opens its four-day, four-game summer tour of eastern Canada on Friday in Ottawa, Ont., when it takes on the University of Ottawa at the Gee-Gee's Montpetit Hall. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. EDT.

The Horned Frogs will play three games in Ottawa before heading east to Montréal, Quebec, for one final contest on its weeklong road trip. The squad departed for Ottawa Thursday morning after holding 10 days of full-scale practice on the TCU campus.

Following the Friday matchup against the Gee-Gees, TCU takes on the Ottawa Guardsmen Alumni on Saturday at 7 p.m. EDT at the Ravens' Nest on the Carleton University campus. A game against the Carleton University Ravens follows at 7 p.m. EDT Sunday at the same facility. The squad then wraps up its trip Monday at 7 p.m. EDT against the Montréal All-Stars at Brebeuf College before returning to Fort Worth.

Fans can watch the opening matchup at the University of Ottawa live via an online webcast at the SSNCanada.ca, a popular Canadian sports video streaming site. The site also allows fans to interact with others via their Facebook account.

This week's trip to Canada will be TCU's first to an international destination during the summer since former head coach Neil Dougherty's squad traveled to Costa Rica in the 2007 offseason. NCAA teams are allowed one such trip every four years.

The Frogs will feature a revamped roster this week featuring four newcomers and just one returning starter from last season's group.

Leading the Frogs' returnees will be junior guard Kyan Anderson, last year's team leader in scoring and assists, and junior forward Devonta Abron, who was fourth in scoring and second in rebounding. Also back are senior guards Jarvis Ray and Thomas Montigel and sophomore guards Kemal Dincer, Charles Hill Jr. and Clyde Smith III. Ray will return to the floor for the first time since missing the entire 2013 Big 12 schedule due to a broken foot. Sophomore guard Christian Gore, who sat out last season as a transfer, and redshirt freshman forward Aaron Durley, who missed the entire year due to a knee injury, will see their first game action as Frogs in Canada.

In addition to gauging the offseason progress made by its returning core, TCU will get an early look at its heralded 2013 signing class over the next week. ESPN.com recently rated the group, which features guards Hudson Price and Michael Williams and forwards Brandon Parrish and Karviar Shepherd, as the nation's 34th-best class. All four players will be in action in Canada due to an NCAA rule change that took effect a few years back allowing incoming freshmen to take part in summer competitions.

Three roster players will not make the trip, including junior forward Amric Fields, who is being held out while he continues to recover from a knee injury that cut his 2012-13 season short after only three games. Two other offseason additions, senior guard Trey Zeigler and sophomore forward Chris Washburn, are not allowed to compete due to NCAA transfer rules.
