FORT WORTH -- TCU hoops fans are invited to stop by Frankie's Sports Bar in Sundance Square Tuesday evening for the latest installment of Horned Frogs Athletics' Big 12 Days of Summer series featuring men's and women's basketball head coaches Trent Johnson and Jeff Mittie.
Tuesday's event, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., will focus on TCU's basketball programs and the excitement surrounding this season's jump to the Big 12 Conference. Get a chance to meet the head coaches and hear their takes on what to watch for during the upcoming season.
Johnson, a three-time conference coach of the year who has guided teams to five NCAA Tournament appearances in his career, leads the TCU men's team into the Big 12 in his first season on campus. He takes over a Horned Frogs squad coming off its most successful campaign in several years when it reached the quarterfinal round of the College Basketball Invitational last season.
Mittie, the winningest coach in the history of TCU women's basketball, is helping his team transition to a new conference for the third time in his Frog tenure. He has guided the program to winning seasons in each of his 13 years while taking TCU to the postseason 12 times, including nine NCAA Tournament berths.
Those Frog fans in attendance at Frankie's will have a chance to win free TCU gear during several giveaways. Free hot dogs will also be provided with any purchase. Frankie's is located at 425 W. Third Street in Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth.
