TCU to Host Big Monday vs. WVU

Aug. 31, 2017

Complete Schedule

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU will host West Virginia on Big Monday in men's basketball, part of its 18-game Big 12 Conference schedule that will once again include some of the nation's best teams.

Big Monday is one of the premier platforms for men's basketball that features teams in primetime. The Horned Frogs game with the Mountaineers will be on Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. and be broadcast on ESPN.

"Big Monday has been the main showcase for college basketball for as long as I've been a head coach," said TCU head coach Jamie Dixon. "In other leagues I've been in, the first thing you looked for when the conference schedule came out was if you had a Big Monday home game."

TCU will open conference play on Dec. 30 when it hosts Oklahoma on ESPN. The start time will be selected at a later date.

The Frogs will play four of their next six contests on the road, beginning with a Jan. 2 game at Baylor at 6 p.m. (ESPNews). TCU hosts defending Big 12 champion Kansas on Jan. 6 at 8:15 p.m. (ESPN/2). It will be the first meeting between the two programs since the Frogs beat the Jayhawks, who were No. 1 in the nation at the time, in the Big 12 tournament last season. TCU will then travel for road games at Texas on Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. (ESPNU) and at Oklahoma on Jan. 13 at noon (ESPNU).

TCU will host Iowa State on Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. (ESPNU). After last season's thrilling 86-80 overtime win at Kansas State, TCU will return to Manhattan, Kan., on Jan. 20 at 3 p.m. (ESPNU).

After hosting West Virginia on ESPN's Big Monday on Jan. 22, TCU will take a break from conference play when it plays at Vanderbilt on Jan. 27 in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. The Frogs continue Big 12 play at Oklahoma State on Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. (ESPNU).

Texas Tech comes to Fort Worth for a 1 p.m. game on Feb. 3 (ESPNU). TCU will play at Kansas on Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. (ESPN2) before returning home to face Texas at 1 p.m. on Feb. 10 (ESPNU). The Frogs will travel to West Virginia for an 8 p.m. game on Feb. 12 (ESPN2).

TCU will finish the season with three of its last five games at home. The Frogs will host Oklahoma State on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. (ESPN2/U) before traveling to Iowa State for a game on Feb. 21. The game in Ames, Iowa will be at 7 p.m. on Iowa State's third-tier network, Cyclones.TV, and online.

TCU will host Baylor on Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. (ESPN/2) and Kansas State on Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. (ESPNU). The Frogs end the regular season at Texas Tech on March 3 at 3 p.m. (ESPN/2).

The double round-robin format of the conference schedule will lead into the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship, held in Kansas City's Sprint Center March 7-10.

The Horned Frogs return their top six scorers from last season's NIT championship team. Among the returners are All-Big 12 Conference selections Vladimir Brodziansky and Jaylen Fisher as well as Big 12 All-Newcomer Team member Alex Robinson and Big 12 All-Defensive Team member Kenrich Williams.
