FORT WORTH - The TCU men's basketball team participated in the annual Tarrant County Heart Walk sponsored by the American Heart Association last weekend in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
The event, one of more than 300 held across the United States each year, featured nearly 80 local organizations and 14,000 participants. Participants helped raise awareness and money for the fight against cardiovascular disease. Money raised for the event is used to fund research, education and advocacy efforts of the American Heart Association.
This year's event, with the help of the Horned Frogs and numerous other organizations, raised more than $1.1 million to help fund lifesaving research and fulfill the mission of the American Heart Association - to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
