FORT WORTH - TCU has announced that men's basketball's Amric Fields and women's swimmer Lyndsie Gibson are its Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week for their recent performances.

Fields, playing in his first game since suffering an injury Nov. 15 of last season, carried the Horned Frogs to a dramatic 64-62 win at Washington State. He made an immediate impact upon entering the game, scoring seven points in a 14-0 run. He then blocked a shot with two seconds left to preserve the victory. The junior from Oklahoma City ended the game with 16 points and a career-high seven rebounds. He was 7-of-9 from the field and made two of his three shots from behind the arc.

TCU will continue its trip north to Alaska, where it takes on Alaska-Anchorage on Thanksgiving morning at 1 a.m. CST for the first round of the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaskan Shootout. The Horned Frogs' opponents on Friday and Saturday are to be determined.

Gibson had a week for the record books in College Station at the Art Adamson Invitational. She got off on the right foot with three other Horned Frogs in the 400-yard medley relay on the first day, recording the fourth-fastest time in TCU history (3:46.69) alongside Julie Grace Sanders, Gabi Korac and Hannelore Strash. The next day, Gibson broke the TCU standard for the 100-yard backstroke with a 54.92 clip. On the third day, the sophomore from Southlake yet again set a new school record, this time with a 1:58.76 time in the 200-yard backstroke.

The Horned Frogs will return to action after finals week, when they travel to Jenks, Okla., to battle Missouri State on Dec. 14 and 15.
