TCU Basketball Doubleheader Slated for Saturday Afternoon

A basketball doubleheader is slated for Saturday (Dec. 8) afternoon at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum as the Neil Dougherty's squad takes on Texas Southern at 12:00 p.m. followed Jeff Mittie's troops at 2:00 p.m. against Coppin State.

The Frogs are coming off a 71-65 setback on the road at the Moody Coliseum to SMU as part of the State Farm DFW Duel, but have found a tremendous amount of success on their home floor. The Purple and White will come into the contest against the Tigers with a 4-3 overall record, including a mark of 4-1 on the court of Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.

Henry Salter (Gulfport, Miss./Mississippi Gulf Coast College) leads the Frogs into action as the TCU junior is one of five players in the Mountain West Conference to rank in the top-10 in both scoring and rebounding. The Frog guard is averaging 13.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game this season, which ranks him 10th in both categories among all MWC players.

The TCU women's basketball program has notched a 3-4 overall record during the 2007-08 campaign against one of the toughest schedules in the country. The Frogs have played a trio of opponents ranked in the top-15 in the country and will come into the contest against Coppin State with a 3-2 mark on their home floor.

Senior Adrianne Ross(Hobbs, N.M./Hobbs H.S.) comes into the game as the Frogs' top scoring threat as the TCU All-American candidate is averaging a team-high 12.0 points to go along with 2.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Ross is ranked fifth in the Mountain West Conference in steals per game, 12th in assists per game and 17th in points per evening.
