Men's Basketball Runs Over Alabama State, 104-58
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP)(Nov. 20) - Ryan Carroll scored 22 points to help Texas Christian defeat Alabama State 104-58 Nov. 20.
Carroll also had five assists and five steals as TCU (2-0) broke the century mark for the second time this season. Carroll was 4-of-9 from 3-point range.
The Hornets (1-1) were held to only 36-percent shooting. They were led by Alvin Pettway's 21 points and 10 rebounds. Leonard Hooks added eight points in 14 minutes.
The Horned Frogs racked up 12 blocked shots. Six came from Derrick Davenport, who also had 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting and seven rebounds.
TCU used early runs of 13-0, 11-0 and 14-2 to build a 49-19 halftime lead.
TCU's Myron Anthony scored 18 points and had 14 rebounds. Greedy Daniels and Bingo Merriex had 13 apiece for the Frogs.
